Solar energy can be applied on residential homes, solar villages, Villas, mountain cottages, cabins, vacation homes, farms, homes at remote locations, etc.
Would you like to make your home more environmental friendly and help reducing global warming, at the same time generate your own power and save money on your utility bills? Photovoltaic (PV) system , is the solution. The PV system is easy to install (putting solar panels on the roof can be done in 2-3 days), requires low maintenance, it's long-lasting, safe and silent. The PV system will generate clean, inflation proof electricity for your household consumption. Any excess production can also be sold back to the utility company (net metering).
With incentives and rebates available from the Federal, State and local governments, a PV system is now financially viable and a good investment.
How Solar Power Works
Free Yourself from Fast Climbing Electric Rates
Would you like to be your own utility provider, generate your own power and free yourself from utility rate increase? In 2006, the highest tier residential electric rates jumped 30-60% in one year! Most experts agree that electric rates will continue to climb faster than inflation. As your own energy provider, you lock in power at a fraction of the current charges and prevent future rate hikes. A solar power system will allow you to free yourself from the utility company and the instability of global energy markets.
Solar Power is Cheaper than Utility Power
Installing a solar power system is equivalent to prepaying for 40 years of power at a fraction of the cost you currently pay. The cost/unit of energy you pay now is higher than what you would pay with solar. As rates increase in the future, this difference will increase, leading to even more savings over the life of a solar energy system.
Government Incentives Helps Pay for the System
Many States offers good incentive programs to promote the use of solar power systems. The State of California, under The California Solar Initiative (CSI) program offers a sizable upfront cash rebate or performance rebate which is paid monthly over a 5 year period. These rebates usually cover 20-30% of the total system cost. Investments in residential solar electric systems are also eligible for a $2,000 federal tax credit. With incentives and rebates available from the Federal, State and local governments, a PV system is now financially viable and a good investment.
Solar Power Systems Are Dependable
Photovoltaic (PV) cells were originally developed for use in space, where repair is extremely expensive, if not impossible. PV still powers nearly every satellite circling the earth because it operates reliably for long periods of time with virtually no maintenance. Once installed, the solar power system requires little or no maintenance (especially if no batteries are used), and will provide electricity cleanly and quietly for 25 to 40 years. Our solar panels carry a 25-year manufacturer warranty on their production.
Solar Power Helps Reduce Global Warming
Using solar energy for home reduces your consumption of fossil fuels, which decreases pollution and greenhouse gas emission. By switching to solar power, you will combat global warming and reduce our nation's dependence of foreign energy sources. Even a small solar electric system has a significant environmental impact. For example, a 2.5kW solar system reduces CO 2 emissions by an amount similar to that which would occur by planting 1 acre of trees, or the amount of CO 2 emitted by a passenger car driving 7,800 miles per year. The whole family can also raise awareness of energy consumption and changed their behavior to help save energy.
The cost of a solar electric system can vary significantly depending on the amount of power required. A home with a $50/month electric bill will require a completely different system than a home with a $500/month electric bill. For this reason, residential systems range in cost from $10k-100k. The system can be paid for through a number of ways:
Many homeowners finance their systems with funds from a home mortgage or home equity line of credit. Loan payments are frequently similar to or less than what a homeowner would pay the utility for power. Plus, the homeowner now owns a solar electric system that adds value to their property and protects them from future utility rate increases.
Rebates and Incentives
A significant portion of the cost is paid through government incentives. The California Solar Initiative (CSI) offers a rebate for homes that covers 20-30% of the total system cost, and the Federal government offers a $2,000 tax credit that further reduces the cost of the initial investment.
Your Electric Utility
For customers who are charged on a tiered rate, which can cost more than three times what they pay for their baseline, solar power has the advantage of replacing your higher tiered power first. Customers who currently exceed their baseline usage will see even more significant savings when they install a solar power system.
Some homeowners may be able to take advantage of time-of-use metering . This allows you to feed power into the grid during peak times (when power is most expensive), and draw power from the grid during off peak times (when power is cheaper).
Property Value Increases
In addition to this direct return through utility savings, homeowners can also expect that their property resale value will increase substantially. Many home owners after installing a PV system, have already seen an increase in their prop erty resale values. It is estimated a property value increase of $10-20 for every $1 saved annually in electricity.
A solar power system on your home is a long term, low risk, high return way to invest your money. Solar offers an initial tax free annual return on investment of 4-10%. This is very competitive with other higher risk investments such as stocks and bonds. As utility rates increase, the annual return increases.

- Call Us
All we need to get started is some simple information about your home and your approximate electricity consumption. Other helpful details include approximate orientation of your roof (e.g., Southwest), roof material, and major electrical loads in your home.
- Quick System Estimate
The system estimate can be done in two ways. A free site evaluations by an
energy consultant to come to your home and collect the information needed to generate a proposal. Or you can use our quick system estimate form on-line, after you finish the simple form, our energy consultant will generate a proposal within 3 days.
- Review Proposal
Wal Solar Corporation will deliver a proposal to you by email or in person. This proposal will include the initial system design, cost, and amount of the rebate and tax credit. Proposals can also include a simulation of your expected electrical usage and billing with your new solar power system. This will allow you to determine how much you will save on your bills and what your bills will look like after the installation. More detailed financial analysis (such as cash flow or payback) is also available upon request.
- Sign Contract
If you decide to move ahead with the project, you will then sign a contract with Wal Solar Corporation. From here, we will take care of everything. This includes system design, permitting, construction, inspections, utility interconnection and rebate application/collection.
Installation can commence once a contract has been signed, city permit obtained and materials procured. Residential installation times range from 3 days to 4 weeks, depending on system size and complexity.
- Municipal and Utility Inspection
After installation is complete, your system will be inspected by the governing municipality and your utility company. Wal Solar Corporation will schedule and attend all municipal inspections, so you will not need to be present. Following your utility inspection, your system will be up and running. Wal Solar Corporation will provide you with electrical and structural drawings of your new system, along with all owner's manuals, warranties and instructions on how to monitor your system's performance.
